When we had our antique shop for all those years I can remember being a little jealous of my friends that didn't work...that they could go out to lunch, take shopping trips out of town, redecorate their homes, etc.
Then when I "retired" a few years ago..I thought.."Oh good..I'll be able to do this and that, I'd finally be able to get that ugly wallpaper off the living room walls, and my house will be spotless. I was so fooling myself.
Things went fairly well the first year. I was caring for my Mother-in-law so I really didn't get to do what I wanted to do. I quickly got bored. We still had lots of antiques and furniture in storage. A booth in an antique mall seemed a perfect outlet. I would still be able to feed my addiction to hunt for those great vintage pieces. And revamp and re-purpose to exercise my creative side.
So now my days are full of paint and glue and fabric. My living room has turned into a store room. My son says it looks like an episode of Hoarders. I couldn't take that wallpaper off if I wanted to!
In an effort to get myself to sit down and relax at night ( I was painting a table at 11:30 last night)..I dusted off this blog I started so many years ago so I can pass on any great tips, ideas and DIY of my projects.
I hope you'll check in often and say HI
